The Lost Post...and missing months :-)

Well...*embarrassed cough* It appears I've not updated in FOUR MONTHS. LOL.

So here's the quick update:

HTE and I were married shortly after our return from California. It was a beautiful ceremony and I must say, maternity clothes can look gorgeous on you, even at nine months. I wouldn't recommend the high heels though...balance is a "bit" off at that time. LOL.

I broke my ankle. Yes, MY ANKLE. A week after my marriage, no less. How did I do it? Walking. The ground reached up, grabbed me, twisted my ankle and left me laying there. Trust me. *wicked grin* In all honestly, what should have been a sprain and bruises from the landing ended up being a fracture and a walking cast. Try that one at nine months. The baby wasn't injured in the making of this mess. Trust me, the ER staff had a hard time convincing me of that fact.

I was put on bedrest, much to my irritation. HTE and my fellow instructors were shocked that it took so long. I have been told that I'm occasionally stubborn. LOL. Honestly, I was thankful. All of my energy went to our son. (we found that out at a two week checkup and x-ray on my ankle...NO healing had occured)

HTE moved everything from one home to another, mostly by himself, so we could have room for the kender. Our little one needed his own space and since I'm a packrat, we needed more storage.

My son has been born, healthy and hefty at 9lbs and 4oz. And that, ladies and gentlemen was 2 weeks early and after a week of steady contractions. :-) He is absolutely gorgeous and already causing a stir among all the ladies by batting his eyes in their general direction. *sigh* Eyelashes just like his father.

I'm recovering from my c-section at a remarkable rate. So the doctor and my husband tell me, anyway. Little Kender is growing by leaps and bounds. The little fur brother is very protective of the tike. I'll be posting pics as soon as I'm able. Right now, I'm just glad to be blogging again.

On the other family front:

One of the Arkansas Ladies, Lady C, has informed us...we're going to be first time grandparents. A little girl, due in February. We'll keep you updated as we get more info. :-)

My Mom, a first time grandma, is thrilled at her grandson. She thinks he's already outsmarted, outmaneuvered, and outshined anyone in the world...and all in the first week of his life. LOL. As a first time Uncle, my brother has opened up more. I've missed him terribly. It's great to have him back again.

All the children are healthy and doing well. Little D is so excited that he's an OLDER brother now, instead of the YOUNGEST brother.

Back to the everyday life:

HTE and I are trading off taking care of the little one throughout the night. He had some tummy trouble for a couple of days. Now he's sleeping soundly, only waking in the night to eat, staying up for maybe an hour or so. During the day he's active and lively, keeping us hopping. My days are a wonderful blur. I don't know what I'd do without HTE. He's been wonderful. We make a pretty great team.

Doc says it's a long road to recovery...six weeks until I'm allowed to work out again. In the meantime, it's back to the writing board. Inspiration has hit again. And I'm feeling wonderful.

So to my lovely and extended family, I hold you in my heart.

To HTE and my Kender, my heart is full with love.

To my friends, it's great to be back in the swing of things.

To all else, I'm out.
