Moving to the next step...

I'm writing away. This past weekend was fantabulous! I spent most of my time RELAXING for the first time since the Kender was born. Time wasters galore plus some wonderful writing time...and DON'T forget Doctor Who and the Season Finale of Avatar. I wonder if Prince Zuko is truly turned. And will Aang be able to reach the avatar state again? He DID die, after all. Even if it was only a moment.

Learned a new writing term today (okay, not really new, but one I didn't know!). It's called steampunk. What is steampunk, you ask? Well, according to wikipedia:

Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction which came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in (or strongly inspired by—see fantasy-world steampunk below) an era when steam power was still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.

Fascinating. Really.

Notes related to my current writing...I need to work on dialog.

On a brighter note...HTE's starting a fantastic website Cooking by the Seat of Your Pants. Hopefully he'll keep the name. I love the title.

To all, I'm out.

The Difference Engine is, I think, credited with the invention of Steampunk. I forget the author, my brain is fried today, LOL

It has a great concept...but the actual story left me cold.

The League of Amazing Gentlemen (or is Fantastic - see above for brain-fry-age) is steampunk too.

Extaordinary Gentlemen. LOL. I love the idea. Don't know if I'd use it, but maybe. :-)
